Civil War Biographies

John H. Story

John H. Story was born 4 Oct 1822 - Walton Co., GA and married Mary Ann Jordan 5 Oct 1843 @ Columbus, GA
He enlisted 30th Ala Reg Co. I on March 1862 and was discharged at Macon, GA Aug 1864. Wounded at Jonesboro, GA on August 31, 1864, right leg amputated above the knee at Floyd House and Oculgee Hospital, Macon, GA
It appears that He was captured with AL 30th Reg Co. I at Vickburg, MS and was paroled July 8, 1863. From the little research I have done the AL 30th regrouped and went to Jonesboro to help stop Sherman's march to the sea. This is where he was wounded.
