William Wetmore Story Born February 12, 1819 in Salem, Massachusetts, the son of Justice Joseph Story. William Wetmore Story graduated from Harvard in 1838, studied law under his father, and was later admitted to the bar. Having a love of poetry and art, he moved to Italy in 1848 and worked as a sculptor and published a book of poetry. William Wetmore Story died in Italy October 7, 1895.
