Thomas Story Thomas Story was born c 1665 in Carlisle, England. He was the son of Thomas and Thomassine Story. He became a member of the Society of Friends in 1689, and followed William Penn to Pennsylvania Colony in 1693. In 1701, Thomas Story held the office of "Master of the Rolls" for the city of Philadelphia. He was offered the office of Mayor of Philadelphia in 1707, but declined to accept. Thomas Story died June 24, 1742 and is buried in Carlisle, England.
