Perhaps the most eminent name among early Story’s was Edward Story who was born in
Cumberland, England c1422 and served as "Bishop of Carlisle" from 1468-1477, and "Bishop of Chichester" from
1477-1502.
In 1471, Dr. Story was appointed Chancellor of the University of Cambridge, and was Chaplain and Confessor to
Queen Elizabeth. He officiated at the funeral of King Edward IV on April 27, 1483.
Bishop Story died January 29, 1502 and is buried in Carlisle, England. |
