2004 Storey Genealogy Conference
July 8-12 Carlisle, England
The 2004 Genealogy Conference for the Storey, Story and Storie surname was held in the land where our ancient name originated. Carlisle, England and the
surrounding areas of Cumbria and Northumberland are rich in Storey history.
Storeys and Storys from England, Ireland, Canada and the U.S. met for three days in July to share information and to visit ancient churches, graveyards and homes where our ancestors flourished for centuries.
Local historian Iver Gray served as an excellent tour guide for the group as we visited Kirklinton, Arthuret and Bewcastle churches. The local Cumbrian Storys hosted a traditional 17th century border meal with
a Reiver band.
