Crest: On a rock proper a whelk shell fesswise gules, thereon a stork argent. Motto; "Deficiam aut Efficiam". [The arms of his heir are illustrated in A.C. Fox- Davies "Armorial Families" & in colour on Pl.XV of F-D's "The Art of Heraldry" ] 1/2a Grant of Arms to EDWARD STOREY of Lancaster (5th. son of Isaac above) : Per fesse gules and argent. a pale. three crosses paty. two and one. and as manv storks. one and two. all counter- changed. Crest : A stork gules between two crosses paty argent. ( F.D.'s "Armorial Families" ) 1/2b The family of STORER of Purley Park, nr. Reading, Berks. are said to have been originally STOREY of Nortumberland from where they went to Jamaica for several generations. They used: Per fesse argent and gules. a pale and three cranes all counter-changed. Crest: A crane proper. Motto: "Dum Spiro Spero". These arms have now passed to the Fullerton family to be quartered with their arms since the marr of Leila, only child and heiress of Maj. Anthony M. STORER to Mr. G.F.D. Fullerton of Co. Antrim. [ Fairbairn's "Book of Crests" ] [ Burke's "Landed Gentry", 1871] Gold and blue shield 1/3 Grant of arms by Ulster King of Arms (then the authority in Dublin) in 1911 to The Hon. Sir DAVID STOREY of NSW, Australia, formerly of Co. Monaghan, Ireland : Per fess or and azure, a pale counterchanged. three Storks sable and as many Garbs of the first. banded of the last. Crest: On a garb fesswise or, banded gules, a stork proper. Motto: "Ciconia fausta avis". [ F.D.'s "Armorial Families" ] Plain blue shield 1/4 The Rev. George STOREY of lsleworth used: Azure three herons proper[Bookplate] Type 2 Purple Lion rampant with forked tail. or 2 tails. 2/1 Sir WILLIAM STURY (or STURI) used a seal in 1346 & 1350, these are now in the PRO. It bears the legend "Sigillum LELMI STURI", with A Lion rampant tail forked. Crest: a pair of Horns. [Seals in the PRO, ref. no. P2088] 2/1a In the Ashmolean Roll of Arms (c. 1334) WiLLIAM STORY, probably the same man, has Argent. a Lion rampant. tail forked purpure. 2/2 In Thomas Jenyn's Book (c.1410) WILLIAM STORY has Argent. a Lion rampant tail forked purpure charged on the shoulder with a cross formy or. 2/3 In Willement's Roll (c.1395) RICHARD STORY has Argent a Lion rampant tail forked purpure. crowned or charged on the shoulder with a Cross formy argent. 2/3a In another document the cross is said to be gold. 1  2  3  4  5  6
